Feds won’t force White River fish project
WENATCHEE — Saying they prefer their licensees be “good citizens” and resolve problems locally, federal dam regulators ruled Thursday that they won’t allow the Grant PUD to circumvent local, Chelan County rules to build salmon-rearing ponds along White River shoreline near Lake Wenatchee. At least not yet.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The mail processing plant operated by the U.S. Postal Service in White River Junction has dodged a bullet, with the announcement that the facility will remain open, saving 245 jobs.
